Hi, I’m Maria Tomlinson, founder of the Professional Carers Network and a passionate advocate for high-quality, relationship-based care. I’m a self-employed in care expert who has worked hands-on in the community for years, supporting people to live safely, comfortably and independently at home.

I created the Professional Carers Network to help two groups of people:
💛 Families who want outstanding, personalised care
and
💛 Carer workers who want the freedom, confidence and support to work for themselves

As a self-employed carer myself, I’ve seen first-hand how much better life can be when care is unhurried, consistent and built around real relationships. And I’ve also learned how empowering self-employment can be for care workers when they’re supported properly.

Through PCN, I help care workers become confident, fully set up and able to build a business they’re proud of – while helping families find reliable, compassionate carers who genuinely care.

My mission is simple:
To raise the standard of care in the UK by supporting outstanding care workers and helping families access the quality care they deserve.
